Blog 7: Emily's top autumn pick...

Hello there Motel fans, my name is Emily and I'm the Assistant manager of the fabulous Motel Bristol store. I thought id share with you my favourite item of the Autumn range.
Check them out and tell me what you think.

i really like the Sarah dress in blue snake, it reminds me of 80's hair metal bands, the print is really detailed and the shape of the dress is really versatile check it out, this is how i wear my Motel dress.

i like to wear my Sarah dress in different ways so i can make it unique and change the style of my item every time i wear it. in this photo i have worn a bandeau skirt over the top of it so it instantly looks like a top or bodice.

Ive put an over sized crop top over my Sarah in this photo. Its a really casual look and great for a quick fix for wearing my Sarah dress in the day and then taking the crop top off for a different look in the night.

I personalised the Sarah dress with a smart waist coat jacket i bought and give i an eighties style with the collar up and the little bow detail on the front.

i love wearing this vintage 80's denim jacket with the Sarah dress its give it a really casual feel and i think the faded colour compliments the dark blue of the snake skin pattern. i think the jacket it gives the dress a good vintage feel.

Ive put a vinatge levis denim shirt over the top of my dress for comfort and ease ive made a little knot in the frount to add a little detail in the shirt aswell. the shirt over the top makes the dress look almost like a tube skirt aswell.

and last of all my favourite way of wearing the Sarah dress is with a colourful belt and vintage Motel thigh high boots, simple and easy to wear the Sarah dress is my favourite dress of the Autumn range!
Hope you've enjoyed my post and it gives you some added inspiration of how to wear your Motel. Please if you've got any photos or ideas of how you wear your Motel send us a picture to our facebook group!
Hope to see you soon in the store and come say Hello!!
chow for now
lots of love, Emily xx

BLOG 6: Charity Shopping...

If i have any days off during shopping hours... you will ALWAYS find me in charity shops that I can get to easy. There is nothing i like more than having a good rummage through other people cast offs, to find that amazing bit of treasure!!

I love looking for clothes, but also for the nick knacks. I'm moving into a new house with my partner shortly and I simply can't help looking for things to decorate it with! I get all excited about moving house and having a new project to work on (if he thinks he's got a chance to decorate it, he's crazy!)!!

So i was shopping last week and discovered this beaut of a Little clock...

I couldn't believe my luck when i set eyes on him! £2.50! SOLD!

So now he's going to take pride place in my bedroom, until found a more permanent location at my new gaff!!

Last Thursday, at the shop, we took part in one of the local Freshers fairs on the Frenchay campus. I spent quiet a few hours getting a fake wall together, wallpapering it (in true girl style with no nails glue!!!) and collecting a few bits and bobs to decorate with (generally from my bedroom) and we came up with our own cute little stand! You may even catch my new little clock making an appearance!

There was quiet a crowd there and we attracted a lot of girls to the stand.. some new of Motel and a few didn't so it felt great to spread the word about Motel to everyone. You get such a great response from some people when you tell them that they've just come to the city that contains the only full Motel shop! I really enjoyed myself and meeting all the new students..

Please let me know of any charity shop / car boot stall treasures that you come across!!!

We've been changing a few things round recently, in preperation for the students, and we did a new cabinet display. I found this really cool vintage style wallpaper (in Wilkinsons of all places?!?) and i thought it worked really well!

Until friday, we have the last of our summer sale on and i was trying to think of a nice way to have a sale sign, i cam across this picture and did my own take on it! See what you think...

Shop Blog 4: Run 10K

So about 5months ago me and my assistant manager, Emily, decided we'd do our bit for a good cause and set ourselves a mini challenge... we'd run 10K for cancer research.

Don't get me wrong... I'm pleased I'm doing it, but with 17days to go and very little training, I'm starting to get scared!

We're going to give it all we have anyway and hope to raise lots of money for a good cause!
So please please please donate a little or donate a lot! Whatever you can afford is always appreciated!
You can donate in store or by the following link!

Wish us luck!!
